Match report A depleted Park lined up against a strong Wanstead side. Asked to bat first Park were unlucky not to earn a wicket or two early. Akram was well caught by Baker off the bowling of Berry for 38 but a strong partnership of 100 between Ahmad and Chambers saw Park have to test the concentration. Parks enthusiasm in the field and tight bowling kept Wanstead within reach up till lunch. Ahmad was caught by Filmalter straight after lunch for 65 off the bowling of Hendriks. Chambers was bowled by Churchill for a fine 71. Churchill also accounted for the wicket of Laas caught by Berry for 25. Merv Westfield was well caught by Swainland at mid wicket for 20. Chouwdhury and Chambers remained not out 11 and 13 respectively. Churchill finishing with 3-59 as Wansteads innings closed on 267-5 declared from 65 overs.
Park got off to the worst start having Swainland trapped LBW to Chambers for 1.Baker 23 and Hendriks 21 were both dismissed before tea leaving Park at 48-3. Runs were hard to come by as wanstead tightened their grip on the game as wickets fell at regular intervals Kullar 11, Churchill 6, Kliber 24, Filmalter9 , Goldstone 15, Montgomery 0 left Park stranded on 159-9 but sensible batting and pure determination from Allen 44 not out and Berry 8 not out Park held on for a hard fought draw.
