Gidea Park & Romford Cricket Club Saturday 2nd XI v HUTTON on Sat 25 Jul 2009 at 1pm
Gidea Park & Romford Cricket Club Won by 6 wickets (18)
Match report
Gidea Park & Romford got back to winning ways on Saturday with a comfortable victory over Hutton.
Gidea Park won the toss and fielded first. A fine opening spell by Sean Kingston and Chand Chouhan made life difficult for the top order of Hutton and although there was not a flurry of early wickets, good lines and lengths backed up by some good fielding meant Huttons run rate was kept in check. The opening pair were backed up with fine spells from Sammons, Wall and Churchill and despite 50 from Booth and 40 not out by Hammond, Huttons 197 looked short of par on an excellent batting wicket.
Parks chase got off to an excellent start with Collier socring a fluent 37 before being bowled by Bliss. Despite the quick loss of Thomas, Greg Churchill and Baker put on a fine partnership to carry Park towards victory. Churchill making 37 before being bowled by Patterson and baker making a fine 90 before getting out with just five runs needed. A Churchill hitting the winning runs finishing 16 not out.
