HORHCHURCH v Gidea Park & Romford Cricket Club Saturday 2nd XI on Sat 30 May 2009 at 1pm
Gidea Park & Romford Cricket Club Won by 92 runs (20)
Match report
On a glorious day at Harrow lodge, Park lost the toss and were invited to bat by Hornchurch in this local derby. Collier and Baker continued their fine opening form, posting 106 for the first wicket. Greg Churchill (56 no) and Collier then added another 100 partnership for the third wicket with Collier eventually falling for 136 which included 21 4's and one 6. With useful contributions from the middle order Park's innings closed on 276-6. Hornchurch's reply started briskly with Aussie import Nupier showning his attacking intentions right from the off. Chouhan bowled Harper-Horn for 11, and one attacking shot too many saw Nupier(43) follow soon after. The hosts continued to bat positively, Roberts(43) and Rowe(34), but fine bowling from Wall and Khan meant that wickets fell at regular intervals. Eventually Wells sky'd a full toss from Wall to man of the match Collier to complete the win Gidea Park by 92 runs.
