HAROLD WOOD v Gidea Park & Romford Cricket Club Under 13's on Mon 09 Jun 2008 at 06:00PM
Gidea Park & Romford Cricket Club Won by 4 Wickets
Match report
Despite fielding an extremely inexperienced side Gidea Park & Romford U13's maintained their perfect record by recording their 5th consecutive victory of the season. Choosing to bat first in warm evening sunshine Harold Wood made a strong start despite losing a wicket in the very first over. They progressed to 57-1 after 11 overs their batting benefiting from a fast outfield and short boundaries. After Rolls and Klein had retired with 30 runs each to their name GP&R pegged the hosts back to 101 from the full 20 overs with the help of 2 wickets in 2 balls from Liam Neal and tight bowling from Cooper and Hardy. A potentially tricky target was ultimately chased down in only 17 overs with another fine contribution from Brett (30 retired for the 3rd consecutive match) and valuable contributions from Hewitt, Neal and Lister. A satisfying win over local rivals.
