Match report On a first day of the season Gidea Park batted firston a fantastic batting surface. Whilst the outfield was lush and soft it did not inhibit the stoke play of Mel Hussain and Barry Hyam. In a partnership of 81 off 17 overs that was to set Park up for a large total, Mel was first to go caught in the deep for 47. Barry went on to score a fine century consisting of 17 4's and 1 6 before finally retiring on 119. Liam Dunthorne making his first appearence made a solid 29 before being bowled by Baker in one of 3 victims at the death. Anand Krisnan made a rapid 14 in a total of 234.
Park bowled consistently, Andy Berry new recruit form Upminster made a fine start and line and length was rewarded with 2 wickets. Parks total was never indanger and the visitors finally ended on 176-8 giving Park victory by 59 runs.
