Match report Our first outing of the season saw us losing to a very strong Hornchurch side on a rare hot Sunday morning. Considering that we entered the field with only nine boys, we held our own taking six wickets. We fielded really well as it was our first game playing together as a team and having a shortage of players. Facing a very good bowling side, our batting inexperience unfortunetly let us down. But we showed resilience and lasted 15 overs, although not picking up many runs. As a team, we have a lot to learn from this game and also a lot to be proud of as our team spirit was good, potential for improvement is there and the boys were not afraid of whatever came their way. There were three outstanding performances from Luke Allison (two wickets) Freddie Phillips (three wickets) and Jack Roberts who kept really well for his first game as keeper, taking one run out and scoring 13 not out and deserved our man of the match. Well done to you all, and after the next two weeks of hard training I look forward to our next game.
