Match report Upminster won the toss and elected to bat first

The Upminster openers batted patiently against some fine bowling and fielding from GPR. However, whilst early wickets were not forthcoming, the GPR bowlers stuck to their task, keeping things tight throughout and stifling the Upminster middle order. With a double wicket maiden from Matthew (3-16) in the 19th over, GPR were able to restrict Upminster to a conservative 98 runs from the allotted 20 overs.

In reply, GPR’s batsman (Alex (18), Charlie (27no), Arun (25no) and Alfie (18no)) batted with purpose and authority chasing down the runs for the loss of just 2 wickets in 16 overs.

A special mention to Alfie who was playing his first game back after injury – it was like he’d never been away. Brilliant with both ball and bat (albeit he still needs to get his hands off his knees in the field!).

A fantastic all round performance by the whole team.
