Match report Woodford Wells won the toss and elected to bowl first

With many of the more experienced boys unavailable, GPR came out second best against a well drilled Wells team.

Batting first, Alex and Charlie got the team off to a good start; with Alex hitting another 30no (an excellent achievement). Unfortunately the GPR innings fell away despite a spirited 11 runs by Joe; GPR eventually finishing with just 75 runs off their allotaed 20 overs.

In reply, Alex and Matthew kept the bowling tight; with Matthew (2-16) taking the wickets of both openers. Unfortunately, with not enough runs on the board and with some below par fielding, Wells managed to chase down the total for the loss of just 2 wickets and with 5 overs remaining.

The boys will have learnt plenty from this game (including the importance of fielding) and with two further games to go in the group stages, there is still plenty to play for in this cup competition.
