Match report Newham won the toss and decided to field first.

Overhead conditions were poor as Alex and Charlie opened the GPR innings against Newham's quick bowling attack. ‎However, both batsman applied themselves well and with the aid of some wayward deliveries and extras the score stormed to 46 off the first three overs. However, the Newham attack finally found their radar and began to make inroads into the top order.

With the innings in the balance, step forward Matthew Hogg. With a top score this season of 1 ('One') the Managers expectations were not high ! However, with excellent support from Ali and Joe, Matt batted with great responsibility, playing to his strengths (the 'late cut'), scoring his first ever half century; finally being out for 62 in the last over of the innings and helping the team reach 158-8. Newham’s Akthar bowled exceptionally well finishing with figures of 5 wickets for 10 runs.

In reply, the boys attitude was spot on in the field and with the ball. Alex and Arun removed the dangerous openers before Matt, Aman (a fine bowling debut), Charlie and Adam (getting his first wicket at U13 level) ‎dismissed Newham for just 51 runs.

A long game but an excellent team performance
