Match report Batting first Park soon 35-3 as the Wanstead opening bowlers got movement from a damp pitch. Again Andy Churchill 43 and Ammar Zaeem 59 came to steady the Park innings with a partnership of 95. Slow bowling of Fayyaz and Chowdhary helped contain the runs but slowly Park were establishing a decent score. Chris Swainland 60 and Barry Hyam 26 put together 46. Rudi Filmalter chipping in with 18 at the end of the innings. Chowdhary finishing with 4-70.
Wanstead getting by now the best of the wicket started well before Afridi removed Joslin for 15. Spin duet of Andy Churchill and Ali Aslam were introduced and with some fortune to say the least Wanstead continued to make roads towards their target, but slowly the spinners tightened up the scoring rate and with some fine fielding the rate increased.The pressure was too much for the Wanstead batsmen to handle and with Aslam bowling superbly along with Churchill the wickets started to tumble.Ali Aslam finishing with fantastic figures of 6-85 from his 21 overs. Ammar Zaeem returned and reeked havoc with the tail as the runs completely dried up and he powered his way through the last 2 batsmen to give Park a fantastic and deserved victory by 36 runs.
