Match report Wickfords hard and determination to get some cricket played and the umpires keeness to get something from what was a dire day provided what truned out to be an interesting and hard fought match.
Batting first Park had to work hard on a seaming wicket. Ali Aslam went early for 2 and was followed soon after when Ammar was cleaned bowled by Mullins. Arris Afridi was Parks hero as he went on to complete a fine century. A knock of the highest quality and under immense pressure. Playing with freedom in the knowledge that Park had only 38 overs to bat. Arris's ton coming up in the last over containing 8 4's and 1 6. Rudi Filmalter 22 helped add to Parks challenging total and with Russ Collard adding 13 off 3 balls Park posted 206-7.
Wickford with 28 overs to chase down the target started badly losing Walker clean bowled by Ammar. Runs came at a steady rate but so did the loss of wickets and the run rate became too much so Wickford settled for chasing down their revised bonus point target. Russ Collard chipping in with 3-50 was Parks main wicket taker as Wickford made it to 144-6 from their 28 overs.
