Gidea Park travelled to Old Southendians for the latest league game and was presented with what turned out to be a sub standard under prepared dust bowl of a wicket! The toss was key, Southendians elected to bat and Park were condemned to chase on a wicket that was only ever going to get worse!

Old Southendians openers made a positive start before Fretwell struck twice in quick succession. Hewitt bowled decent gas and deserved his wicket but it was the introduction of spin twins Collard and Mane who caused the damage. Mane ending up with 4 wickets, Fretwell 3 and Collard 2. 143ao in 46 overs.

Parks response started positively with Mane striking a couple of early boundaries. Things were soon to change and Park were soon 39-6! A fine 44 from Francis and some dogged lower order batting see Park through to 123ao in little over 35 overs. Hunt the pick of the oppo bowlers with figures of 7-44.
