Match report Draw batting Second!

Gidea Park won the toss and elected to field on a supposedly treatcherous outfield according to the umpires! Having started half hour late park rattled through overs with Fretwell and Filmalter keeping the Leigh openers in check. Hewitt continued the good work thereafter before the spin twins Mane and Bhad did the bulk of the damage. Vin grabbing hopefully the first of many 5-fers for the club and Minhaz with 2 wickets from an 18 over spell. Leigh posted 188-8.

It was during the tea break the umpires broke the news that the last hour was to start at 6, not half 6 as captains had been informed at the toss. Leaving Park just 50 mins and 20 overs.

Park started positively with Vin hitting early boundaries but the positive approach of Park needing nearly 6 an over resulted in wickets being lost frequently. With Russ and Rudi going well Park were still in the game but with the loss of the 6th wicket Park shut up shop to finish on 134-7 from 35 overs. This game perfectly demonstrated the farce of time cricket in weather effected games.
