Match report Skipper Patient won the toss yet again & had no hesitation in batting first on a sweltering hot day at Gallows. After chasing leather for three weeks in the heat a change was due.

Davies & Dabhi made a steady putting on 35 before Dabhi was bowled by Culley. Davies followed when the score was on 63. Saghir Khan batted well for his 45 before finding long on with unerring accuracy.

Patient & Jones carried on the good work, Jones making his maiden half century for the club before departing for 65. Skipper Patient went the same way as Khan, holing out to long on, but not before completing his century. Park declaring there and then with 281 on the board.

Upminster then got off to a good start having 16 in the first two overs. Park then started to bowl with more control. Ashu Dabhi taking two good catches off the bowling of Gurjit Jutla. Hafiz continued to bowl well at the other end.

Park continued to press for wickets but the very flat batting surface made a positive results unlikely. During the final 20 overs Park wilted in hot heat somewhat, that aligned with determined Upminster batting meant the game finished in a draw.
