SOUTH WOODFORD v Gidea Park & Romford Cricket Club Saturday 3rd XI on Sat 05 Jun 2010 at 1PM
Gidea Park & Romford Cricket Club Won by 4 wickets - 18 points
Match report
Park won this game thanks to a fine all round performance from Jakk Carver. He returned bowling figures of 3 for 38. Then with Park struggling at 128 for 6 he, along with keeper Chris Webber saw Park home with 5 overs to spare.
Park won the toss and asked South Woodford to bat. Good bowling from Ali, Winmill early on pegged South back. Ryan Sammons in his first game of the season bowled with pace and hostility. South had Wong to thank for holding their innings together. Carver accounted for him, Barnett & Evans in his second spell.
When Park batted they were given a flying start by Saghir khan, back from injury and Michael Pegram. 64 coming from the first ten overs. The rain then came and batting became a far more difficult affair. South Woodford's Hussein exploited the conditions extremely well to take five wickets. He used his height and high action well to extract movement from the pitch.
This brought Webber and Carver together. They batted sensibly, ran well and took Park home to their fourth win of the season.
