With pitches damper than for previous weeks through the rain on Thursday the 1sts continued their poor start to the season with a loss at Orsett, although as in the other league games so far they were in good positions at times during the match. This was counterbalanced by a big 9 wicket win for the 2nds at home to Westcliff on Sea, runs and wickets for Chris McKie, but the 3rds went down by 6 wickets to Wanstead, the 4ths by 5 wickets to Belhus despite Sam Hewitt's second 70+ of the season, and the 5ths losing to Buckhurst Hill 4ths by 50 runs. On Monday the U16 Matchplay team lost to a very strong Wanstead team but nevertheless have made a reasonable start to their 9 match campaign this year with two wins and two defeats.
