Gidea Park & Romford Cricket Club Saturday 3rd XI v UPMINSTER on Sat 27 Jun 2009 at 1pm
Match was Abandoned
Match report
For the first time this season Park skipper Patient won the toss. He then decided to field on one of the hottest days of the year... So far so stupid. He then loses his spinner to the seond XI. Fantastic!
Upminster then set about Park's opening attack with glee. Rahmann seems to like the Park wicket alot.
Patient, in an act of desperation brings himself on to bowl his slow left arm filth. This leads five Upminster batsmen to take pity on Patient and commit themselves to some very interesting ways to play around straight delievies and give Patient his first ever five wicket haul. As ever Paul Winmill his usual high standard, bowls 16.2 overs, does not go for many and take three wickets.
Will Murphy played very well for 52 for Upminster, being last man out stumped Capp.
Park set off in pursuit of 213 to win. Montgomery and Pegram start well until Pegram holes out and the rain, hailstones, thunder and the lightning come and ruin the day.
Patient 20 overs 5 maidens 58 runs 5 wickets. It's enough to give you nightmare's.
