Despite only the one early wicket of Hamilton for 1, Park made scoring difficult with fine opening spells from Gordon and Filmalter. Clarke played a typically aggresive innings of 46 and Wallace making a fine and determined 40 not out. With the run rate never getting out of hand Park were able to set aggresive fields and an excellent 13 over spell from sammons ensured Park restricted Leigh on Sea to 188 -7 off their 52 overs.
With Collier, Baker, Patel and Thomas all unavailable, Parks batting line was much changed. It got off to a steady start with Ashley Capp and Ron Montgomery before the latter was adjudged LBW. Filmalter came in and played aggressively for his 41 before a flurry of quick wickets left Park 88-5. Tom Montgomery and Steve Brant steadied the innings with a fine partnership, and when Montgomery was out, also adjudged LBW, Chouhan and Brant saw Park to victory with 5 overs to spare. Brant fininshing with a hugely important and very fine 51 not out, superbly supported by Chouhan who fininshed 32 not out.
