Gidea Park & Romford Cricket Club Sunday 3rd X1 v Harold Wood on Sun 15 Aug 2004 at 1.30pm
Gidea Park & Romford Cricket Club Won 7 wickets
Match report
This excellent win should see Park through to the semi final of the Jeff Rodrigues trophy and was built upon some excellent bowling and fielding. On the bowling front special mention should be given to Paul Winmill who bowled 4-33 from his eight overs and Dave Cobil who bowled 3-25 from his eight overs. Andy Jenner was his usual trifty self with 8-5-19-1. Jack Kliber who normally keeps wicket bowled 6 overs and got 2-27 with his final ball being a fine yorker which bowled the Harold Wood number 11 and left Wood with a total of 165 all out off their 40 overs.
Park set about their reply quickly but carefully with all the top order contributing led by openers Coombe (23) and Matt Tarr (39). Jack Kliber (47) and Ron Montomery(41) made sure Park got to the finishing line with 10 balls to spare after some tight bowling in mid-innings by Harold Wood. A great game of cricket played in the right spirit and a credit to both teams.
