Gidea Park & Romford Cricket Club Saturday 4th XI v Walthamstow on Sat 24 Jul 2004 at 1.30pm
Match was Drawn

Match report Park won the Toss and decided to bat and once again built a score around the phenomonel batting of Ron Montgomery who once again played wonderful shots all around the wicket. Ron was unlucky to fall just short of a well deserved century.

Rons opening partner Matt Tarr continues to improve and hit a good fifty. Tom Montgomery who has been showing good form all season reached a well deserved first 50 for the club. Well done Tom. Some strokeplay and strong hitting from Anil Patel, Tom Kershaw and Danny Coombe saw a Park declaration on 271.

Good opening bowling by Adam Locke and Mark D'cruz ensured that Walthamstow never really got off to a flier and it was hard from there in. Peter Collier bowled a long spell and was unlucky not to get a reward. Jon Roberts bowled with the usual fire and passion and got two wickets but an end of mid innings mini collapse casued by Les Hall(3-31) made it all very exciting. Eventually Walthamstow held out for a draw
