Gidea Park & Romford Cricket Club Under 15's v South Loughton on Thu 25 Jul 2002 at 5.30
Gidea Park & Romford Cricket Club Won 37 runs
Match report
Park were put in to bat in this cox and kings cup match and openers Andy D'cruz and Craig Bray got Park off to an excellent start adding 47 runs at just over 4 an over before Craig was bowled. Andy went on to make an excellent 55 which would have been a lot more if not for excellent Loughton feilding. Gary Coombe batted well at number 3 enjoying his promotion and hitting as couple of lovely boundaries in a quickfire 14. Billy Patne who is making a bit of a name for himself this year crashed a quick 16 and with the help of skipper Sammons guided Park to a respectable 114-3.
Loughton's reply started quite well until Adam Locke broke through aided by a spectacular catch by Vraig Bray in the covers. South Loughton looked like they had wethered the storm but Skipper Sammons brought himself on to bowl 2 overs of 2 runs and then Craig bray joined the attack to bowl 2 overs for 3 wickets and no runs.... if those figures are beaten this year I will be a very happy man. Tommy Kershaw tried is best to beat those figures picking up 3 wickets in 4 overs and just conceding 7 runs. Great performance Tom!!! Park were helped by quite superb fielding and there were also good catches for Mark d'cruz making his under 15 debut and Skipper Sammons who took a quite superb one handed running catch.
A brilliant evenings cricket... Thanks boys... Semi final place now awaits us
