Match report The match began with the threat of rain and this started soon after the Billericay innings commenced. The match was important to the visitors as a win would see them promoted, but with the rain increasingly heavy, and despite everyone's best endeavous, after 18 overs it was all too much for both teams and the match was abandoned.
The season for the 4ths ended pretty much as it began, with rain and an abandoned match! However, there were some good things to emerge in the season despite the disruptions of the weather as the team established itself comfortably in a higher division. Availability issues in the club each week meant that there was never a settled team, but there were some very good individual performances on occasions and promising performances from younger players, and all who played must be thanked for their contributions! Let's look forward to a warmer and no less competitve 2009!!
