Match report A tough first match of the season for GPRCC U9 where we fought hard but lost to a strong Upminster team 280 - 207.

GPRCC were asked to bat first and despite a combination of fast bowling and windy conditions, everyone worked hard and did well to score runs with notable performances from Mathew Hubbuck, Efe Aihe and Tom Young.

In response, the Upminster opening order played extremely well. Wickets were hard too come by despite strong bowling performances by Zaraar Kunwar and James Radden. Clayton Connolly and Thomas Oldland were excellent in the field and despite Daniel Quilter's outstanding catch at cover and Dominic Wilson's wicket keeping helping keep GPRCC in the game, at the end Upminster were deserved winners.

Despite the result, this was an excellent performance for a team that has just started playing together.
