Match report A disappointing draw in what should have been a well set up game of cricket.
Wanstead won the toss and immediately asked park to bat first. A flat pitch was a batsmens paradise. A fine Barry Hyam 80 and 67 from Kish Shallow was the back baone of parks innings. Collard 22, Swainland 24, Chouwdhury 22, Ferns 22 and Evans 21 were all handy additions in a well paced innings which saw wanstead have no answer to good batting on a good track. Chris Murray being the pick of the Wanstead's bowling picking up 2-34 from his 13 overs. Mo Fayyaz as accurate as ever picking up only 1 wicket on a totally unresponsive pitch. Parks innings finishing on 282-5 with ferns and Evans adding 51 in the last 5 overs to set a realistic and challenging target for a Wanstead side packed with batting.
Chambers went early bowled by Miller Collard had waters LBw to leave The Herons on 50-2 from 12 overs. Ar.Akram then made 72 with some fine shots but really failed to take Wanstead closer to a challenge , brother Ad. Akram made a fine 42 before falling to a great catch by Chouwdhary at slip. Wanstead lost wickets at regular intervals and a victory was out the question. Park pushed on ferns taking 3- 34 and Ali Aslam taking the other wicket to fall. Park had to settle for a draw with wanstead 174-7. Karn Sohail making his Park debut had a fine spell but finished wicketless
