Match report Batting first Gidea park got a steady start allowing a solid batting performance to be carded. 70 for the first wicket Kishnor Shallow 33 and Chris Swainland 37. Haris Afridi 28 and Russ Collard 51 put on 36. Ferns and Collard then adding 55 before Ferns was stumped. Ali Aslam 27 and Chou 50 not out give the innings a fantastic late flurry allowing Park to total 253-7 from their alloted 64 overs. Nick Gibbs being the pick of the home sides bowling 3-40.
3 early wickets left Colchester stumbling on 3-54 but then a great innings from overseas Micky Gajanayake 77 and T. George 47 put the home side in a very commanding position putting on 127. Gaja finally falling to Donovan Miller who produced a fine 2nd spell 3-52 Haris Afrid taking a fine catch. An even better catch was to follow when Chou took an amazing catch in the deep to dismiss George. Park were now sniffing a chance as the door closed on Colchester. Ali Aslam returned to claim 3-69 and Ejaz Khan 3-36 took Park tantalizingly close to victory.
A draw and a fine game of cricket played in a great atmosphere played on a great wicket.
