Match report A pleasing victory for Gidea Park that owed much to the tight, consistent bowling display with each of the 6 bowlers used picking up at least one wicket, plus a 'lively' playing surface. The fielding was also of a good standard with only one dropped catch, plus an absolute stunner one handed at second slip by Ron Montgomery.
The response started shakily with Montgomery and Burch both playing their first innings of the year, falling for 11. Thereafter, Suki Jutla looked assured on his way to 29 before being bowled. Zeeshan Gohar then took up the mantle and saw us home with an unbeaten 23. The winning runs were actually 4 byes, which when added to the 11 other byes in the innings was a useful help!
A good strong performance that bodes well for the league season ahead
