Match report A closely fought match went down to the final over with Gidea Park narrowly missing out to strong Wanstead B side. With Wanstead still requiring 2 to win off the last 3 balls, they finished off the game with a four to complete victory. Overall it was an encouraging performance from a young U13s side (including 2 u11s) that is developing nicely. Mature batting from both James Brown (retired 32 N/O) and Alfie Williams (stumped 22) gave Wanstead a reasonable total to chase. Alas, giving away too many extras ensured that this total was ultimately obtained. That said, some stand out bowling performances from James Brett (4 Os, 1 Wkt for 7 runs) and Kiran Kullar (3 Os, 3 Wkts for 20 runs) took this game to the wire. In summary, a great performance from a team that is very much work in progress.
