Match report Park's original opposition scratched and this rearranged friendly produced a well played draw and a senior debut for a number of the younger GPR colts. Rankins batted first and were unable to make any headway against the Park opening bowlers veteran Andy Jenner and 14 year old Burham Ahmad, not the change bolwers Harry rogers and Kami Kamudiwariya, and at one stage were 30 for 4. the 5th wicket pair of Guy and Luff played well though and Guy scored a nice 59 not out with some good drives and Luff scored 22. with the departure of Luff,verteran Ian Greenwood made inroads with 3 wickets (3 for 25) as all the colt bolwers also had the chance to bowl, and the declaration came at 138 for 7. Park's batting was weaker than the bowling and after Ian Greenwood departed for 10 the score subsided to 30 for 5 with Bird 3 for 3 proving too much for the young batsmen. However skipper Andy Jenner with 26 not out held firm and in partnerships with James Brown and Burhan Ahmad steered the side to a well earned draw at 98 for 8. all in all a good experience for the younger players and some promising debuts.
