Match report West Essex won the toss and batted and played aggressive cricket from the start, their batsmen helped by somewhat erratic/eccentric umpiring. Afzal 65 and khan 55 and Akbar 52 were the particular beneficiaries but Park pegged things back towards the end of the innings with Chand Chouhan picking up 4 for 39 off 12 overs. A final score of 237 for 7 was about par for the conditions. Park's reply was initially slow with 58 for 2 off 14 overs but Simon Baldwin 63 had good partnerships with Faizan Rana 28 and then Chay Hedges who laid about him to good effect for 77 not out. In the end the side fell 16 short and settled for the draw at 221 for 4.
