Hutton v Gidea Park & Romford Cricket Club Sunday 3rd X1 on Sun 20 Apr 2003 at 2pm
Gidea Park & Romford Cricket Club Won 10 wickets
Match report
Hutton won the toss and batted. Keir Smith bowled opener Sadano with a superb inswinger and fellow opening bowler Craig Bray also got a wicket when he forced other opener Vanner into a false shot and was caught at gully. Feeley and Watson (who went on to remain undefeated on a well deserved 101) then went about building the Hutton innings which forced GPR on the defensive. Spinners Phil Goldstone & Dave Osbourne applied the brakes to a certain extent with Goldstone getting two wickets and Osbourne one. Legspinner Gary Coombe came on at the end to bowl four excellent overs for just 11 runs and one wicket.
GPR reply was clinical with Colts Chris Collier (17) and Andy D'cruz (15) knocking off the runs in just 28.2 overs. Andy D'cruz started the quicker off the two getting to 35 while Chris had only made 8. Chris then turned on the power blasting his way to a ton before Andy had made 50 (including 26 off one over)!!!
Chris Collier finished on 131 no and Andy D'cruz on 68 no.
Special thanks to veterans Les Hall and Dave Osbourne (combined age of well over a ton) for steering a team of colts to quite an impressive victory
