Having lost the toss and been asked to bat Park soon lost Hyam for 2.Scott Davis was next to go caught behind hooking at Bopara for 12with the total at 30 in 10th over.Andy Churchill and Mel Hussain set about rebuilding the innings and at lunch were 128in the 42 over. Hussain duely completed a fine half century before finally being caught in the deep for 62, the score at 152 in the 48th over. Russ Collard and Andy pushed on and managed to add 117 in the remaining 18 overs. Andy finishing a fine season 96 not out with 10 4's and Collard finishing on 69 not from 50 balls with 6 4's and 3 6's.
Parks task was never going to be easy but with patient the rewards started to come.Staffer Sharrif was first to fall , caught oof Hussain at mid wicket. Bopara looked a great player and his innings of 62 held Park up but Hussain struck to have him LBW and the plyers could tell the tide was turning.Hussain added 3 more victims the third and vital one of Shah LBW for 3. Due celebrations but the game still had to finish. Hussain finishing the match with great figures of 5-55 from 23 overs. Ben Montgomery with 1 for 8 and a run out.A draw the final result but enough to becojme champions for the first time in 19 years.
