Match report After massively over estimating how long it took to get to this ground we turned up at 12.40 and sat around waiting for the opposition to arrive. When they did it became apparent that this side in no way resembled the outfit we played earlier in the season. We won the toss and despite crashing the well pitched up ball to the short boundary SW were pinned back and had only scored 74 when the first wicket fell after 24 overs. Pressure was as usual applied and Saffron Walden were forced off for 156-7 after 52 overs. Great spells from Paul Winmill (26-4-64-2) and Andy Jenner (18-5-43-4).
In reply we managed to take full advantage of the small boundaries and victory was achieved off only 26.4 overs with Keith 75 not out and Jerry Trayler 60 not. Eighteen points emphatically acheived but I feel with hindsight we could of done things differently. Apologies to Dave Cobill, Ron Montgomery, Danny Cox, Andy D'Cruz and Matt Hiscock who did'nt get much of a game. Roll on Harlow. All reports suggest that this will be a much sterner test.
