Match report Having won the toss and electing to field, 'Park made it very difficult for Ardleigh Green with lively opening spells from Paul Winmill and Ryan Sammons. When these two were replaced by And Jenner and Les Collard we managed to strangle the life out of the batsmen and with Dave Cobill chipping in with 2 wickets, they were reduced to 103-6 after 41 overs. However, finally some hard hitting from Powell and Barnard enabled Green to declare at 177-6 after 52 overs. Special mention should be made to Paul Windebank whose performance in the field was an example (please not too many slides - remember last season!!).

With 2 hours and 20 overs available to score the runs, Matt Burch (34) and Keith Wright (65) contributed 96 for the first wicket in even time. Jerry Trayler (45 not out) and Danny Cox (8 not out) ensured that 'Park cruised to an 8 wicket victory with 11 overs to spare.

There will be more difficult games to come in more testing conditions but you can do more than beat what is in front of you. This we did with some style and confidence. A great start, lets move on!
