Match report It was a day when the weather ruined a match that promised more.
Having lost the toss again Park were put into bat.Losing Hyam early to a catch behind for 1 then Anand took the sword to the bowling with a swift 27 but an injudicious attempt at a 4th boundary in as many balls saw Park reduced to 30 for 2 in only the 5th over.Leigh Davey and Andy Churchill steadied the ship before Churchill was adjudged LBW for 14 with the score on 70.Davey completed his maiden half century for the club but was immediately out for 51.Hussain 27,Singh 35,Collard 22 and Clarke 21 saw Park to a declaration at 228-9 from 55 overs.Mordrick producing a fine spell of bowling 4-46 and taking advantage of conducive conditions
Needing 229 from 55 overs Fives were soon in trouble Fitzgerald caught and bowled by Davey. Clarke then claimed 2 wickets leaving Fives struggling at 11-3. Rain then interveened.With only a further 26 overs to bat at resumption and in damp and dark conditions Park failed to capitalise .Lacking the right length on an helpful wicket Fives capitalised on poor bowling and lack of concentration. Ballard and Maher both completed 50's and the game finished in a draw but not before Clarke the wicket of Maher LBW for 63.
Not a game for the history books.A draw and points split 7 -8 in favour of Fives
