Match report Park lost the toss once again & found themselves put in on one of the most "Interesting surfaces" seen for many a year. Rain then delayed the start for an hour. James Redwood's shocking form continued given out caught behind a one that did to much for him to get anywhere near. Jeff Thomas was having a hard time himself hit on the helmet in the 1st over.

Baljit Singh returned to the side after being away for two weeks on study leave. Singh played with authority on a vey awkward surface, playing shots all round the wicket. Thomas grew in confidence and started to play some fine strokes himself. He was bowled by the Westcliff captain by one which spun back sharply to hit leg stump. Singh was joined by Greg Churchill, they put on 99 for the 3rd wicket. Greg was caught for a fine 55 and shortly afterwards Singh completed his century. Patient was bowled off an inside edge & Singh holed out shortly after that. Stand-in skipper Ron Montgomery delcared after only 38.3 overs with a score of 227.

After tea Paul Winmill & Singh bowled a tight opening spell between them. Winmill was his miserly self picking up the wicket of Westcliff opener & 1st team player Waddingham. Singh picking up 2 wickets & a catch which led to Winmill's wicket.

Park were forced to turn to spin in an effort to open the game up and get some wickets. Phil Goldstone, bowling for the 1st time in 3 weeks & James Redwood managed to pick up 5 wickets between them, also having 1 catch dropped & 2 stumpings not given leaving the game to finish in a draw.
