Match report Following Phil GOLDSTONE damaging a finger in the pre match warn up and Paul WINMILL tearing a hamstring in his 4th over the omens did not look good for Gidea Park. However, they still got off to a good start by getting 3 early wickets for 22. Tom ILIFFE playing in his first game of the season and normally a Chelmsford 1st team player then took full advantantage of the weakened bowling attack and went on to smash an excellent 109 out of a total of 256 for 6. Mark WINDEBANK was the pick of the Gidea Park bowlers by always trying and giving 100% in his 22 overs 3 for 83.

In reply James REDWOOD scored an excellent 56 but like so many other of the batsmen gave his wicket away to a careless shot.
Wickets fell at regular intervals and in the end a strong batting line up only managed 155 all out. It was a big total to chase but we should have done better. In the end we were outplayed in most departments and ended with only 4 match points. Everyone will have to look at their own individual performance and realise that all of us can and should do alot better.
