Gidea Park & Romford Cricket Club Lost By 4 Wickets

Match report Upminster ran out eventual winners in a very well spirited game on a slightly overcast Sunday afternoon at Gallows. Gidea Park batted first but lost wickets at regular intervals with Mulla Moin showing the only real resistance with an impressive 63. The tail however failed to wag and Gidea Park ended up setting a total of 118 for Upminster to chase. Ison was the pick of the Upminster bowling bagging 5 wickets with some accurate bowling at the death.
Upminsters response started well but the loss of two wickets a few overs in left them 30 for 2 putting Gidea Park very much back in the game. Two good stands however, firstly between Ison and Wyatt and then Ison and O'Dell meant that Upminster then edged ahead of the run rate and despite a spell later in the game where they stuttered losing 3 wickets for 12 runs they eventually made it home with 7 balls to spare. Ison again was the pick of the Upminster performers with 59.
