Gidea Park & Romford Cricket Club Sunday A XI v Upminster on Sun 16 Jul 2006 at 2.00pm
Gidea Park & Romford Cricket Club Won 90 runs

Match report Park won the toss and on a baking hot day decided unsurprisingly to bat first. An excellent 1st wicket stand of 131 was ended when Jack Kiliber was out for a fine aggressive 67 and just 12 runs later his partner Greg Churchill was also out for a fine 69. Baber Choudary kept the momentum going with a half-century of his own and useful contributions all the way down the order ensured a daunting target of 271 was set.

Upminsters reply started off well with a good contribution from Ex-GPR man Andrew D'cruz. But once he was out for 34 Upminster who was up with the rate at that point lost momentum. Skipper Phil Goldstone applied the brakes with the best bowling of the day and finished with 3-24 off his 8 overs. Good contributions were made all down the order but the required run rate could just not be maintained.

Quite an easy win for Park at the end.
