Match report The opening match played at chingford's new 4th XI ground at the Peter May Centre was abandoned at tea when persistent rain prevented a restart. Park won the toss and batted first on a slow pitch which had considerable variations of bounce, backed by an outfield that had clealy been last cut in April! Shots did not carry full weight because of the conditions and in the event a final score of 155 was very handy. Jas Chaggar kept the innings together with a well compiled 62, and at the death Colin Jones asisted him in a 9th wicket partnership of 25, the best of the inninggs before the rain came to ruin the day. Next week is the first round of league matches, the opponents being Ardleigh Green.
