Match report An impressive first game for the U15's under the guidance of Steve Brett. Ardleigh Green fielded first and Adam Mckie (51no)tucked in to the bowling with some zest, taking advantage of some dropped chances Adam kept the score moving well, hitting some powerful shots and with great support from Connor Halsey (27) they took Park on to 84. With just three overs left Andy Jones and Lloyd Renvoize added 18 valuable runs to set Green a stiff target of 102.
Unlike Green, Parks fielding, and especially catching was superb. Not a chance was put down as the Park bowlers all contributed to the mornings success. Of particular note was David Bretts excellent spell of 2 for 5 off 3 overs against Greens competent opening batsmen, and Joe Thompsons 2 wickets for 4 runs off 2 overs, including a fine caught and bowled. Special mention has to go also to Lloyd Renvoizes fine catch in the deep to capture the wicket of Greens (Essex Ladies representative) female captain who had batted well and looked a threat , probably wont be the last time he catches a girl in the outfield. Their were also two run outs to complement what was a fine all round cricket performance by a young but very promising looking side. Weather Conditions - Bloody Cold !
