Match report The final over of this enjoyable 40 over friendly saw GP&R needing 10 runs to win with 2 wickets left but Hayto's double stike saw Park all out 8 runs short.
Chelmsford had found runs hard to come by early in their innings as Park's opening bowlers Jakk Carver and debutant Saj Kodituwakku bowled an excellent line and length, Carver picking up 2 good wickets. Andrew Naipaul also bowled well on debut but runs began to flow for the visitors as the innings progressed and Park failed to maintain their early initiative. In the end Chelmsford posted 212 from their 40 overs.
Park lost Hasibul Hoq early in reply but Jamal Francis and Baber Choudhary played watchfully to keep the score moving. Choudhary in particular was timing the ball effortlessly but after Francis was caught behind the middle order fell cheaply until Greg Churchill offered Choudhary some support and the pair looked to accelerate the score. After Churchill went, Naipaul played some nice shots and as Choudhary completed a deserved hundred, Park had hope of getting to their target. However, once Choudhary fell to Hayto's off spin, Park ran out of wickets and came up just short.
