Match report Gidea Park u15's got their Cox & Kings Competition off to a great start with a massive win over Barking. Skipper Brett lost the toss and they were sent into bat by the Barking captain.

Hewitt and Brett got the innings off to a good, solid start. With the help of extras and some well controlled batting, Park got to 62-0 off of just 9 overs. At this time Hewiit had got to his classy 30 playing some great strokes. Wain then came in at 3 and played in is usual agressive way scoring quickly with some big shots. Wain and Brett both went to their 30's in consecutive overs giving Park a great platform for the last 5 overs. With more extras and some excellent stroke-play from newcomer Josh Turner, Park got themselves up to a huge total of 162.

10 man Barking looked to decide that the only way to get up to Park's total was to hit out but some good, straight bowling from Hewitt and Turner (2-18) made sure this wasn't possible. Turner picked up 2 early wickets and some tight bowling from 1st change bowler Piper (3-23) kept Barking's batsmen from getting up to park's run rate. The spin of Ryder (3-14) then flumexed Barking's tail end and him and Piper finished up the Barking line-up giving Gidea Park a great win in their first group game.
