Match report A hard fought draw at Gallows, in a match both sides will feel they had chances to take the spoils...

On a green wicket after the early morning showers, Keir Smith and James Pegram troubled both openers with the new ball. After this initial pressure both batsmen applied themselves well and passed their half centuries, with Sayers going onto fall just short of a ton after a long stay at the crease. Keir finished wicketless for the second week running, when both weeks he was the pick of the bowling. I'm sure big wickets are around the corner.
Ikram Patel also bowled well on debut taking 2 wickets. (One full knocking back the middle peg and the other snapped up expertly at backward point.)

OSS finished on 239 for 4 and Park fancied their chances in reply. However some loose strokes and poor shot selection, left Park in trouble at 81-4. Under 16 pairing Matty Brett and Sam Hewitt showed the more experienced top order how it was done. Some fine stroke play and excellent running between the sticks put the pressure back on OSS and the 2 lads brought Park right back into the mixer.

With the score board on 180 Brett fell five short of his ton, with a chanceless 95. At this point park needed a further 60 from 5 overs. James Pegram threw the kitchen sink and some at the Southend bowling and hit a rapid 37 (including 3 big maximums.) But smart wicketkeeping bought an end to the cameo and Park fell 8 runs short with Hewitt unbeaten on 40. OSS could breath a sigh of relief.

Park had to settle for only 5 points in an entertaining game...
