Match report Having won the toss Park were soon on the back foot. Hoq bowled for 5 in the 3rd over, Choudhary 38 with Naipul added 39 for the second wicket. Apart from Collard 50 and Francis 49 not out Park were well short of a challenging total falling to 162-9 before Francis and debutant Chris McKie saw park to 201-9 at the close.
Park needed early wickets with Greenidge and Ejaz Khan again beating the outside edge on numerous occasions but without the luck that was needed to make a good start. Jones and Redman saw Chelmsford to tea at 60-0. Park broke through with Naipul dismissing Redman well caught by Choudhary at point. Hoq removed Jones for 52 but with Nick Prowting in fine form 62 not out and Thurston 34 not out at close Chelmsford strolled to victory by 8 wickets.
