Match report Gidea Park were soundly beaten by Hastings in the National Cup 5th round tie.Losing by 100 runs.Hastings took advantage off some below par bowling piling on the runs early and settled in to a fine run scoring rhythm.Andy Churchill did his best to bring the runs under control but it was left to Collard 3-31 Hussain 3-49 to try and stem the flow.Runs came at a steady pace with Montgomery claiming 4 wickets at the end to wrap upa formidable score of 252 off 45 overs.
Park started at a gallop but that was to be there downfall losing Hussain for 30 in the 9 over with 46 on the board. But a steady trickle of wickets and tight bowling saw runs dry up and the run rate climb. Luke Sweeny Darren Batch and Ben Montgomery helped Park to 150 all out in the 37th over.Not one to remember unfortunately but to learn from.
