Gidea Park & Romford Cricket Club Under 15's v Leyton County on Wed 29 May 2002 at ASAP!!
Gidea Park & Romford Cricket Club Lost 6 wickets
Match report
Park batted first and were pegged back to 102 off theie 20 overs after it looked like we could get a lot more. The innings was built around a fine knock from Chris Swainland who really lead from the front as he blugeoned the Leyton attack all over the ground. Craig Bray supplied some assistance with some good shots of his own... however the team really couldn't capitalise on Chris's start.
Park really looked sharp in the field at first and a good opening spell by Toogood and Johal resulted in not many runs and a wicket apeice. The only criticism I can make of the boys is that they went a bit quiet and real didn't seem to beleive they could win it but they really were in with a fighting chance. We were pretty good in the field with Andrew D'cruz taking charge when it looked like we could have a collision and taking a fine catch. I have to mention some great feilding work by William Buckman and James Defroand. Top bowler was Tommy Kershaw who took 2 for 13 off two overs and included a top class caught and bowled.
This is a young side and they will improve as they grow in confidence. This was a good display against a strong side so hopefully they will take something out of the performance. A much better effort lads
