Match report From a struggling 17 for 6 , GP & R u13's recovered gallantly to win in the last over by three wickets, chasing Ardleigh Greens total of 64. Steered to victory by a marvellous top score of 21 by Jack Miles, ably supported by Nathan Bowen, who whilst scoring just one run stayed with Jack for 9 overs to ensure GP&R came through. Ardleigh Green batted first and started well with Daws hitting a fine 18, he and Jones added 30 for the first wicket, but when Callum Crown got the valuable wicket of Daws with a fine delivery, Ardleigh Greens pace slowed, with the Pegram twins in particular bowling tightly, and they added only a further 34 in the last 12 overs, of which many were wides ( a total of 26 in the whole innings). Renvoise came back at the end and took two wickets in the last over, one a fine catch behind from Connor Halsey off a snorter of a delivery. Chasing a modest 64, Lamb and Halsey started brightly, with the former running exceptionally well between the wickets, but when Lamb was out to a wild shot at a straight ball, the rot set in, GPR went from 13 for 1 to 17 for 6 until Miles steadied the ship with his 21 , including 4 boundaries. Nathan Bowen and Jack Miles saw off the return of Ardleigh Greens opening bowlers, including Haylett who bowled superbly for 3 for 8 off 3 overs, and with just one needed off the last over GPR ran home winners with balls to spare. A win by 'Miles':) !
