Gidea Park & Romford Cricket Club Lost Lost by 5 wickets

Match report Park lost to Westcliff by 5 wickets in a game when Park should have had enough runs to be able to defend that size total. Westcliff though raised their game above Parks and strolled to an easy victory.Fine innings from Andy Churchill 91, Jack Kliber 49 and Russ Collard 72 were the main contributors in Parks 266-6 declared off 59 overs.
Westcliff got off to an awful start losing their first 2 wickets for 3, but an amazing partnership between John Pratt 84 and Tim Wade a fine 108 not out were Westcliffs heroes in only their second win of the season. Russ Collard 3-55 and Rhett Fielke 2-67 were Parks wicket takers on a day when Park have bowled better in the past.
A word of thanks should go to true club guys who played and have played over the last few weeks due to such poor availabilty and injuries. Thanks to Tom Montgomery, Andrew D'Cruz, Craig Bray,Alan Croft and Andy Berry who have all performed with great enthusiasm and heart.
