Cyril Pegram died over last weekend aged 89. Cyril was a long standing VP of the club but had suffered poor health in the last 18 months. His sons Bill and George played for the club in the 1960s and early 1970s. Bill was a member of the very strong Romford Saturday and Sunday teams and played in the first ever National Final (the Kemps Cup) in 1967 at The Oval when the club were runners up to a Hampstead side that read like a county team. Subsequently he played in North London and won the Middlesex League with Hornsey. George was a Gidea Park member and a stroke playing middle order bat.
