Club AGM 11th December

The club AGM on 11th December at Gallows Corner rounded off the club's year and in addition to all the usual business and reports on the past season, we elected the committee and team captains for 2013 and announced the club awards for the season just gone.

The existing committee was re-elected but we do seek more volunteers to assist the club's officers in the considerable amount of administration which has to go into a club these days. We will be asking people to assist, but don't let that prevent any volunteers stepping forward; a small contribution by a few people will make a considerable difference!
Chairman  - Andy Jenner
Secretary - Chris Webber
Treasurer - Brijesh Patel
Fixtures - Craig Bray
House and Grounds - Luke Baker
Youth Development - Richard Wall
Welfare Officer - John Haddon

The captains were also re-elected and there is one change from 2012 with Aaron Hughes taking on the 3rd XI and the incumbent Craig Bray stepping down to vice captain.The 1st to 5ths are respectively Chris Collier, James Patient, Aaron Hughes, Rajesh Kanojia, Andy Jenner, and Peter Collier takes on the U21 Academy XI on Sundays.

The club awards will be presented aty the Stag Supper on 8th March and are:
GPR Batting Trophy - George Rogers - 500 league runs
Fletcher Cup for bowling - Richard Wall - 29 league wickets
Romford CC Fielding Cup - Rajesh Kanojia
Peters Cup for Most Outstanding Performance - Richard Wall - 8 for 50 and 41 scored out of a total of 79 all out v Hadleigh & Thundersley 2nds
Andy Evans Trophy for Best Bowling - Richard Wall - 8 for 50 v Hadleigh & Thundersley 2nds
President's Cup for Player of the Year - Vinayak Mane, 523 runs and 23 wickets for the 1st XI
Chairman's Cup for most Improved Young Player - George Rogers
Brazier Cup for Club Services - (jointly) Ian Roberts and Dave Cobill

We are now looking forward to 2013 and the 150th anniversary of the founding of Romford CC, who merged with Gidea Park CC in 1970 as Gidea Park and Romford CC. Watch this space for more news!
